"Always be good, and it will lead you at your best

I work really hard at trying to see the big picture and not getting stuck in ego. I believe we’re all put on this planet for a purpose, and we all have a different purpose… When you connect with that love and that compassion, that’s when everything unfolds.– Ellen DeGeneres (via psych-facts) Via I.am.ME.
'In spite of everything I loved you, and will go on loving you - on my knees, with my shoulders drawn back, showing my heels to the headsman and straining my goose neck - even then. And afterwards - perhaps most of all afterwards - I shall love you, and one day we shall have a real, all-embracing explanation, and then perhaps we shall somehow fit together, you and I, and turn ourselves in such a way that we form one pattern, and solve the puzzle: draw a line from point A to point B… without looking, or, without lifting the pencil… or in some other way… we shall connect the points, draw the line, and you and I shall form that unique design for which I yearn.' || [x]

I’ve just finished reading Isn’t It Pretty To Think So by Nick Miller and my goodness it is one stunning read.
Definitely my new favourite book. Just beautiful. I want to read it all over again immediately. My heart is actually aching. I can’t remember the last time I invested in characters in a book and felt emotional when I reached the end.
Lovely words. Thank you.
My mother used to say to me, ‘You can’t eat beauty, it doesn’t feed you.’ And these words played and bothered me, I didn’t really understand them until finally I realized that beauty was not a thing that I could acquire or consume. It was something that I just had to be. And what my mother meant by saying that you can’t eat beauty is that you can’t rely on beauty to sustain you. What actually sustains us, what is fundamentally beautiful is compassion for yourself and those around you. That kind of beauty inflames the heart and enchants the soul.– Lupita Nyong’o (via goldentulips)
